The VEIL & The CHURCH – Averine Pennington

September 8, 2021 1:53 PM Averine Pennington

Sept. 7, 2021

I was awakened this morning at 3:33am. After spending some time in prayer, I went back to sleep and received two brief dreams which I believe to be interconnected:

Dream #1: The VEIL

This dream began with me observing two young children, a boy and a girl, perhaps 8 or 9 years old. The boy had bought an ice cream cone for the girl and was smiling as he handed it to her. She accepted it and gave him a big smile back. I was then made to know that the boy and girl remained childhood friends, later fell in love, married, and spent their lifetimes together.

The scene changed. I was standing before what appeared to be an endless, thick, black, impenetrable glass wall. I could not see either end as it seemed to extend both ways into infinity. (It reminded me somewhat of the Vietnam War Memorial in D.C.) As I watched it was as if a very large hand waved across the front of the wall and as it moved across the surface the black glass became transparent. I could see everything that had been hidden behind the glass, including every minute detail of the lives of the couple I had observed earlier, from their very beginning unto the present. It was as if I was viewing their lives which spanned many ‘years’ in a matter of ‘moments’ and seeing the end result, how God had woven the thread of their lives together into a ‘beautiful tapestry.’ There was so much clarity in what I was being shown – no dimness at all, everything very bright. I knew I was seeing a place, a realm, that had never been revealed to me before. I don’t know quite how to express this, but I ‘felt beauty’ if such a thing can be ‘felt.’ My spirit sensed great love and peace, and I had a knowledge of the things of God that were beyond my natural ability to understand. In this experience, I felt as though I was in a state of being that was ‘outside of time.’

Dream #2: The CHURCH

This dream came immediately upon the heels of the 1st dream, so much so, that I assumed it was a continuation of the same dream. However, it was a totally different scene:

The pastor of the church I attended for almost 20 years (in real life) was apparently retiring. I found this very strange as he is probably only in his 50s, what I would consider too young for retirement. But that was not all that was happening! The church building was being torn down brick by brick! I observed as the congregation had gathered to watch the demolition. They were taking bricks as souvenirs. Not only were they taking bricks, but they were divvying up anything and everything that had once belonged to or been a part of the church building . . . even the light fixtures and the wall hangings. I was shown two people who were squabbling over who would be the proud owner of a ‘beautiful tapestry.’

End of Dreams

Folks, I did not even write these dreams down this morning, but I did share them with my husband. I went about my normal morning routine and around noon, my adult daughter called saying she wasn’t feeling well. My ‘Mama Bear’ syndrome kicked in, so I headed out to check on her . . . half an hour drive away. During that trip, the Holy Spirit began giving me an interpretation. Very rarely does this happen. I am usually given puzzles I must solve, and after much research I can only pray that I find what the Lord wants me to find. This revelation was so overwhelming that I could barely see the road for wiping my tears. Now as I type this, I find myself crying again!

THE INTERPRETATIONS:

The VEIL:

“For NOW we see through a glass, darkly; but THEN face to face: NOW I know in part; but THEN shall I know even as I am known.” 1 Corinthians 13:12

(emphasis mine)

[As I was led to share this scripture with you, I reached for my Bible. Amazingly the Lord had me open it to the EXACT page . . . what are the chances???? I am looking for a tissue!] I thought I understood this verse, or at least the accepted interpretation, but the Holy Spirit has given me a wonderful, deeper revelation. I always thought the phrase ‘then shall I know even as also I am known’ had something to do with how we will all be able to know and recognize each other in heaven. While I believe that to be true, it is not what this scripture is referring to. This verse is talking about ‘the veil’ between the earthly realm and the heavenly realm. Right now, we only ‘see through a glass, darkly.’ We only ‘know in part’ that which God has revealed through His written Word and what He chooses to continue to reveal to each of us personally and through words given to His prophets.

God loves us all the same! He created within mankind a desire to KNOW their Creator. I have heard it said that when designing us, He left an ‘empty space’ that only He can fill. Your relationship with God will vary from someone else’s relationship depending on how much YOU put into it. Each individual chooses how close they want to be to God by their own actions. How much time do you choose to spend with Him? How much effort do you put into building and maintaining your relationship with Him? Love is not only a noun, but also a verb! If you draw nigh to Him, He will draw nigh to you. God knows those who are totally devoted to Him, who have and will continue to sacrifice all to follow Him. He knows you better than you know yourself. God wants to be first and foremost in your life. Do you love Him? How often do you tell Him so? Do you desire to know your God as intimately as He knows you? Wow! When it was revealed to me that indeed that will happen, it seemed unimaginable. Can you even fathom truly knowing the heart of God? That’s what the Holy Spirit has shared with me about this verse. Just as God knows my heart, I will know His! The interpretation of the 1st dream is this: The AGE OF GRACE we are living in is ending and we are moving into the next. The OLD is past and the NEW is beginning. We are leaving the ‘NOW’ of this verse behind us and moving forward to the ‘THEN.’ As this earthly existence draws to a close . . . all we have known, all we have done, will be over . . . a lifetime compressed into mere moments as compared to eternity with our Savior. Beyond ‘the VEIL,’ the Bride of Christ will see her Bridegroom ‘face to face’, and THEN shall she know as she is known. We are at the time when the VEIL is being removed! As we have borne the image of the earthy, so shall be bear the image of the heavenly!

The CHURCH:

Again, this dream is signaling the end of an AGE. It is a companion piece . . . a confirmation, if you will, of the 1st dream. The fact that the pastor was retiring at an unexpected time and the church was being demolished ‘brick by brick’ was foretelling the END OF THE CHURCH AGE. We are at the time foretold in Mark 12:1-2, the Parable of the Vineyard. (I encourage you to read a previous post I published on this site in mid-July of 2020 entitled, “Brotherhood of the Bride.” In that message I go into a much deeper study on the Parable of the Vineyard.) The church in this dream was symbolic of where we are on the end-time events timeline. The current church system will become irrelevant. Many will close their doors. The enemy has infiltrated the house of God in an attempt to ruin God’s vineyard. Wolves are mixed among the sheep to the extent that God is sending His own harvest workers, hand-picked to make sure the job gets done right and on time. The church has had over 2,000 years to accomplish the great commission. Though much work has been done throughout the generations to further the Gospel, over the expanse of time the enemy’s influence has taken its toll. It is Harvest Time. Time has expired for the church to get the job done! Again, it will be out with the OLD and in with the NEW! (Harvest workers prepare to deploy!)

I will mention briefly that both dreams referred to a ‘beautiful tapestry.’ I believe this to be of a personal nature to me, but I will share with you why I think so. My husband and I have been married 50 years this past August. Several years ago on our anniversary, I could not get out to purchase a card for him, so instead I composed a two-page poem about how much I loved him and why. One of the sentiments I put in that poem was that someday, when our love story was completed, it would be compared to a ‘beautiful tapestry’ of two lives that God had woven together. At the end of time, God himself would add the fringe and proudly display that ‘tapestry’ upon His mantle.

The couple I observed in the 1st dream was not us, but the ‘beautiful tapestry’ was also referring to their love story. The 2nd dream at the church has two people squabbling over a tapestry. I believe this has to do with the fact that for the past almost two years my calling of the Lord has led me out of ‘the organized church’ and drawn me into a deeper ‘training’ with the Holy Spirit as my teacher. My husband does not have the same calling and still attends the same church that was in my dream. Though he doesn’t understand all the changes in me . . . because he loves me and because he knows how much I love my Lord and want to serve HIM . . . my husband has come to accept God’s leading and call on my life. Without question, the enemy has attempted to focus many of his attacks in this area. The tapestry in the dream seemed to be in jeopardy. Perhaps this has a deeper spiritual meaning not yet fully revealed to me. In the precious name of Jesus Christ my Savior, I do hereby rebuke any attempt of Satan to come against my marriage in any way that would prevent ‘our tapestry’ from being completed as God intended. I claim every promise that God has given me regarding my household and all of my loved ones. I pray that the Lord will strengthen each of His harvest workers for the task that is NOW at hand. Be strong and courageous for the Lord Thy God goes before you.

May God bless each of you and may we all continue to declare . . . “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

Yours for the Harvest Averine
