"Sharpened To Penetrate" - Christine Beadsworth

Hi it's Christine here, and this is just a quick message. I wanted to share a very quick vision I had as I was going to sleep last night on the 17th of July. I saw before me the blade of a weapon I don't know if it was an arrowhead, or a spearhead, or a sword blade but the age of the weapon was being sharpened against a rotating wet stone and the scene was very dark, in fact you couldn't even see the hand holding the blade you couldn't see the rest of the weapons, this is why I couldn't make out what it was. All you could see was the age of the blade lift up by the sparks that were flying off it as it was being sharpened. So the only like in the picture were a sparks that were made by the sharp thing. And I had the strong impression that the meaning of his raiment at this time (is) who the Lord is doing hand sharpening with. And they're in dark situations they don't really understand what's going on, but his hand is holding steady against the wet stone and there is strong pressure which does not let up. And also I had the sense that the sharpening was a preparation for battle. So I went to the Word to look up where it discussed sharpening, and in the first scripture where it comes up is in Deuteronomy 6, where it is speaking about the children of God teaching God's Commandments to their children, and it says that they must teach diligently...when they walk by the way, when they lie down, when they sit up. But the word for "teach diligently", which is the way that is translated in the version I read, actually means "to sharpen". And in the Amplified says "wet and sharpen" these commandments so that they penetrate. That if you think about trying to get something to penetrate somebody's heart and mind, there's pressure, there's a thrust behind it. And so God is trying to teach his children diligently. He's waiting and he's sharpening in certain areas, so that it penetrates the heart. So one only gets sharpened in the areas where you are blunt. The reason why I know this, is because I'm busy looking off to my 89 year-old mother as she recovers from a back operation. She's sleeping the other side of my king size bed, and I'm attending to her needs. And I'm discovering that I have a tendency to be easily irritated, and patience is not one of my strongest points. And then as she got up in the middle of the night last night to go to the bathroom she took quite a long time and I had to get up and see what was going on and the whole process took at least half an hour, and it was a lot of rearranging bedding and hot water bottles, and all sorts of things that were going on at 3:00 in the morning. And I was quite ready by the end of it all, I didn't say anything, but I was like a cat with my fur rubbed up the wrong way, because every time I tried to go to back to bed and tried to go back to sleep, then something else needed to be sorted out. And as I lay on my pillow for the last time and closed my eyes, a scripture popped into my heart, and it was from 1 Corinthians 13 which says, "if you have the gift of Prophecy and understand all mysteries and possess all knowledge and have faith to move mountains but have not love you are nothing love is patient, it is not easily provoked". And you know, that word...a word spoken in due season...it pierced my heart. I just knew I was guilty as charged. And I just said, "Lord Your Holy Spirit can shed Your Love abroad in my heart and give me patience and endurance for the situation." So I know that the intense pressure that I'm feeling, because it doesn't lift up in an area, is to deal with an area in my heart that is blunt and needs sharpening. And that is the area of expressing the characteristics of love, patience, and long suffering. So I must ask you...if you find yourself in a situation when you're not really understanding why you are in that situation...if you're experiencing extreme pressure that doesn't let up...if you find yourself...sorely try...know the Lord is sharpening an area in you...in your heart...that is blunt. And it is in preparation for battle. Isaiah 41 verse 15 says "I will make you a new sharp threshing instrument with teeth." And Isaiah 49 verse 2 says, "He has made my mouth like a sharp sword." Now that's a wonderful thing because Revelation 1 verse 16 it says that "out of his mouth it is a sharp two-edged sword", and again in Revelation 2, it speaks about Him as the "sharp two-edged sword". So when it says in Isaiah 49 verse 2 "He's made my mouth like a sharp sword", He's making us into his image. So I just wanted to share that quick fleeting vision with you. The thing that really struck me with the darkness of the scene that I saw, the absence of any seen human agent a continual pressure, and the sparks that were flying, you know when you get sharpened, parts of you get removed. Tiny little pieces of steel get taken off of a blade as it's held against a wet stone. You can't measure the size of those pieces. The blade looks pretty much the same after it's been sharpened as before, the naked eye cannot see the difference...but, oh, what a difference when it is used in battle. So may the Lord give you grace, encouragment, and patience...and endurance. And if you're having pressure in the same area as I am, concerning not being easily provoked ,and being patient, may God work that in you speedily. He's preparing us as His weapons of war. Hallelujah.
